Best Ski / Snowboard place in Vermont? (New England?)?
Me and some friends to take a ski / snowboard trip in February 09 and were thinking to go to Killington VT. I read some comments from Killington and heard freezes, crowded and very flat, so I'm starting to doubt it. So I ask, what is the best place to ski / snowboard Vermont? If there is a lot better in the New England area, I recommend? Best answer support response to specific points and / or personal experience. Thank you! For what it's worth, I snowboard, so I appreciate snowboarders who can give me feedback.
You will find (what that most skiers in powder form) called "ice" almost everywhere in the East. Killington however, is the glacial Resort in New England. Some of the tracks that have a tendency to become icier than others, but mostly, the most popular careers are well maintained, unless intentionally left untrodden, and runs on several Big-K is intentionally left untrodden. It is very crowded on weekends, especially during hoildays. If you're like most people and that is when you have off, so will have to face the crowds at each location. I think the weekend the two gondola, Superstar Quad, snowshed Express, and the elevator that goes from half back to the gondola station snowshed, and the elevator that reaches the outer limits are the most popular lifts. Lifts the upper slope are generally crowded. When using the tube and parks, parks are usually kept in good shape. Landings after a few of the most major obstacles can be a little sketchy as the development of ice. The tube of Bear Mountain can get crowded at times. Just call your drops and not cut. In As for which is flat: The Way Creek Falls has some very slow sections. If you have the speed to get in, you will be through the zone with a much flatter. My friends snowboarder make it through all the time. Parts of the Great Northern, The Juggernaut, loneliness, and the base area between snowshed and RAMSHES are plain! You will suggest that pressure and avoid the Juggernaut and solitude together. However, there is enough slope on the cross for the trails and the Grand Orient to carry through most of snowboarders. As for the other resources. As someone mentioned, Jay Peak is probably the best when it comes to snow conditions. Okemo and Stratton boyfriend much, but can not find the place or the conditions in all that much better than Killington. Okemo has its stretches of flat terrain just as well. Mountain Road makes many people loose. Stratton can be super-crunchy on the tops and I think the lower ski slopes to the left 'Get especially ice. The main mountain in Stratton are well maintained, but there are a series of cruises fairly flat there too. Of course, Stratton pipe usually has the highest … it's huge!
